SMALL GROUP READING FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS

Depending on the age of students, this group will focus on the building blocks of reading through engaging games, practicing sight words, spelling and other key early literacy skills.

Older students will be supported in reading comprehension strategies as well as reading fiction and nonfiction text and practicing skills that will deepen understanding of the text.

SMALL GROUP MATH

FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS

This small group will center on practicing key skills and ideas related to fractions and decimals.

Together we’ll look closer at using fractions and decimals in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, supported by engaging visuals and fun group activities.

SMALL GROUP WRITING WORKSHOPS

These small workshops will be grouped according to age and are available for students K-12.

An example for 9th and 10th graders includes a 2-part workshop utilizing Joseph Campbell’s “The Hero’s Journey” and the first Star Wars film. For younger students, Step-Up-to-Writing workshops are available.

SMALL GROUP EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING FOR MIDDLE/ HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

This small group will help establish new habits for online learning. Topics covered will include: setting a routine; using a calendar to organize assignments; email writing (asking for help, checking in on a regular basis); techniques to improve writing, and more.

PARENTING CLASSES ON

MATH & LITERACY

Right now, parents are having to be their children’s teachers. For those parents who are finding their kids are being sent home a bunch of busy work and want more for their children or who want to use this time to “catch up” on skills that their children are behind on, these classes are for you.

Topics include math for K-3 parents or grade 3-5 parents whose children are behind as well as early literacy skills for kids K-3 or struggling readers in grades 3-5.
